Background model of the ANAIS-112 dark matter experiment

چکیده
The ANAIS (Annual modulation with NaI(Tl) Scintillators) experiment aims at the confirmation or refutation of DAMA/LIBRA positive annual signal in low energy detection rate. ANAIS-112, consisting nine 12.5 kg modules, is taking data since August, 2017 Canfranc Underground Laboratory (LSC) Spain. Results from analysis three years are compatible absence modulation. background model developed for all ANAIS-112 detectors was established commissioning and non-blinded events first year taking. Now, characterization being improved profiting larger accumulated exposure available. Here, described comparisons measurements spectra counting rate time evolution three-year (considering different conditions) presented.

Neutron Background Studies for the CRESST Dark Matter Experiment
The new detection concept applied for the direct WIMP search experiment CRESST II, which enables a clear discrimination between electron recoils and nuclear recoils, will leave neutrons as the main background. This background will soon limit the sensitivity of the experiment and therefore become an important issue for the next phase of CRESST. We have performed a study based on Monte Carlo simu...
متن کاملStatus of the ANAIS experiment at Canfranc
The present status of the ANAIS experiment (Annual Modulation with NaI’s) is shown. ANAIS is intended to use more than 100 kg of NaI(Tl) in the Canfranc Underground Laboratory (Spain) searching for seasonal modulation effects in the WIMP signal; in a first stage, a prototype (one single 10.7 kg crystal) has been developed in order to obtain the best conditions regarding the energy threshold and...
متن کاملDark Matter and Background Light
Progress in observational cosmology over the past five years has established that the Universe is dominated dynamically by dark matter and dark energy. Both these new and apparently independent forms of matter-energy have properties that are inconsistent with anything in the existing standard model of particle physics, and it appears that the latter must be extended. We review what is known abo...
متن کاملThe Argon Dark Matter Experiment (ArDM)
The ArDM experiment, a 1 ton liquid argon TPC/Calorimeter, is designed for the detection of dark matter particles which can scatter off the spinless argon nuclei. These events producing a recoiling nucleus will be discerned by their light to charge ratio, as well as the time structure of the scintillation light. The experiment is presently under construction and will be commissioned on surface ...
متن کاملThe XENON Dark Matter Search Experiment
The XENON experiment aims at the direct detection of dark matter in the form of WIMPs (Weakly Interacting Massive Particles) via their elastic scattering off Xe nuclei. A fiducial mass of 1000 kg, distributed in ten independent liquid xenon time projection chambers(LXeTPCs) will be used to probe the lowest interaction cross section predicted by SUSY models. The TPCs are operated in dual (liquid...
